Key Things to Know about a British Wedding
For some of our overseas guests, a British wedding may be quite different from what they're used to. So we've put together a list of a few key differences that they should probably be aware of.
It takes the whole day
Whilst many of you may be used to evening weddings, a British wedding is an all-day affair. From the guests being seated at 12:00 for the ceremony to the end of the reception at 01:00 the next morning.
We focus on the food
Whilst an open bar is the norm in Brazil, in the UK we place more emphasis on the food. Whilst there will be: a drinks reception, wine throughout the meal & Champagne for the toasts, any other drinks you would like will need to be purchased at the hotel bar.
Hats! Hats! Hats!
Although for the Brazilian ladies a typical wedding may be all about the evening gowns, for the British ladies, it's all about the headwear (hat). We hope you'll enjoy doing something different and show the British ladies how elegant you can be with a wedding hat on!
Hair & Make up
Usually, in the UK, only members of the wedding party have their hair & makeup professionally done. So ladies (or gentlemen) should come prepared to do their own hair & makeup on the morning.
We love a good speech
One of the highlights of a British wedding is the speeches given during the wedding breakfast. We hope you'll enjoy them as much as we do.
